They can come in shapes like trees, towers, box shapes, chair shapes… These posts can be carpeted or non-fabric, some have 2 levels or 3 levels, which can be a lot of fun for a cat. Cats are known for scratching furniture, especially sofas. Hopefully, if you provide them with a cool enough scratching post, cool cats will actually use it.
