Napoleon dining chair

I must admit I had never heard of a Napoleon chair before, and knew nothing about them. After doing a bit a research, I afraid I’m not much better off. Indeed, there is very little information about the reason why these types of chairs are so named. One reason may be that the top of the back of the chair is shaped in such a way that may resemble Napoleon’s famous hat.
