An entryway storage bench gives you a place to sit and take off or put on your shoes and boots. Some come with storage baskets or drawers, which is great for keeping things tidy. At least in theory. In my experience, kids tend to leave hats, coats, and bags on the seat, making it not only messy but impossible to sit on. So if your family is like mine, you may want to set some rules about keeping the storage bench free of unnecessary items.

Outdoor storage bench

There are plenty of good, solid, weather resistant patio storage boxes on the market. The only problem with them is that the more they contain, the more room they take up. This is why it may be a good idea to consider getting a storage bench. Not only does it do the job of storing things just as well as other boxes, but it doubles as a seating area, meaning that you save valuable patio space.

Patio storage benches are a clever way to combine attractive seating and storage space. Some are sold with cushions included and some not. Ideally the cushions should be weather resistant, but this is not always the case, so make sure you check product descriptions clearly before you buy. You can always store the cushions in the bench, but if all your storage space is taken up by them, then it sort of defeats the purpose.
