There is no denying the beauty of glass tables, but when a pane of glass rests directly on a metal frame there the possibility of chipping, especially if the glass tends to move around a bit. A solution to this problem is to get little clear pads and place them between the two surfaces. Some of these pads are the stick-on type and can also be used on other surfaces that you want to protect. Especially handy if you have granite or marble counters, as you can use them to protect the bottom of jars, bowls or plates from chipping on these hard surfaces.
