If you are going for a more minimalist look throughout your home or apartment, you may want to try and minimize the clutter and maximize the space by using wall mounted DVD player shelves for your various entertainment components. DVD players, DVRs, gaming consoles and cable boxes can all fit nicely on a wall mounted shelf, giving your room a more airy, less cluttered feeling or look.

It seems like more and more folk these days are buying flat screen TV’s to have mounted on their walls. While the aesthetics of this can be quite stunning, it takes a lot of work and sometimes needs to be outsourced to professionals. Fortunately though, you can skip over the middle man and do it yourself by buying a mounted TV stand. With a little help from a friend, the TV can now be safely and securely mounted to the wall with minimal hassle.

If you’re like my mother, you have a fondness for celebratory plates from the Franklin Mint. In fact, she has so many that she doesn’t have enough room in her cabinets to display them properly, so she had my father install a wall mounted plate rack where she could display her plates openly. Her only issue with this set up is that the plates get dusty a lot faster.

If you have little closet space and need a place to store your ironing board when not in use, you may want to look online or at you favorite hardware store for a back of door ironing board holder. This is an easy solution if you have a space problem, and you may even find one that has hooks for coats, towels or aprons, along with a small storage area for cleaning products or brushes. Even if you have an “old school” heavy and bulky ironing board, most back of door holders can accommodate your storage needs.

One of the things I hate about ironing is lugging the ironing board out of the closet, and putting it back in. Your house may be spacious enough so that you can leave your ironing board open and ready to use at all times. But if you are looking for a space saving solution that is also quite convenient, a wall mounted board is ideal.
