One of the good things about placing your TV in a corner is that, depending on the seating arrangement in your living room, it can widen the viewing area. If you have L-shaped seating for example, everyone can get a better look at the TV, rather than if the screen was against a wall.

The fact that flat screens are. by definition, so thin makes it possible to make cabinets that elevate and lower the screen, thereby hiding it from view.
