If you ever find yourself invited to a very formal white tie event, there is a definite dress code that you will need to adhere to. Unlike a black tuxedo, which is fine for a semi-formal dinner or event, the white tie dress code requires that you wear a white tie tailcoat jacket, related trousers and dress shirt along with a white pique tuxedo vest or waist-coat. Of course, it goes without saying that you will also need to wear a white pique cotton bow tie and shiny dress shoes.
