It’s sometimes the little touches that can really make a room come alive. Adding colorful and contemporary valances to your window treatment is one way of sprucing up an outdated look or style. Just make sure that you take as many measurements as possible before you head out to purchase your valances, including the dimensions of the rod you will be using so that there’s no issue of ill-fitting grommets.

Brown window valances

Adding matching color theme window valances to your bedroom and/or guestroom is a nice way to decorate and dress up your windows. However, there may be an added benefit that could greatly increase your nightly sleeping experience. Some valances have been designed exclusively to block out light and noise by adding a woven textured fabric to the backside of the valance which can benefit your sleep cycles resulting in a deeper and more restful sleep.

Baby room valances

When it comes time to decorate your baby’s room, you want to keep everything bright, cheerful and colorful. Soft pinks, yellows and blues go nicely on walls, bedding and curtains. For an extra touch that completes the window dressing, matching valances in the same color as the curtains or walls can make a noticeable difference. And if there are cute baby designs on the valances and curtains, then all the better.

Of course one of the things to keep in mind when choosing a valance is the color of the curtains in the window.

Bedroom window valances

Ensuring that one gets a good nights sleep should be on top of everyone’s to-do list. One way to ensure this is to have your bedroom in complete darkness before you attempt to fall asleep. There are specfic curtains, drapes and bedroom window valances that are manufactured from specific materials solely for that purpose. They may a tad more expensive, but you’ll be thankful in the morning after a restful nights sleep.

Floral Window Valances

Have you ever walked into a room you have walked into a thousand times before only to realize that the room needs a little something more? For me, this usually happens around Spring time as the days get longer and brighter. Normally, I like to change the bed sheets and comforter to something flowery. And of course, once I do this I realize that I need to add floral window valances to my large bedroom windows for an extra bright touch. It’s the simple changes that truly make a difference.
