Adding matching color theme window valances to your bedroom and/or guestroom is a nice way to decorate and dress up your windows. However, there may be an added benefit that could greatly increase your nightly sleeping experience. Some valances have been designed exclusively to block out light and noise by adding a woven textured fabric to the backside of the valance which can benefit your sleep cycles resulting in a deeper and more restful sleep.

Wood window blinds

There’s practically nothing that ties a room together better than the choice of window dressing. If you stick to an established color scheme, chances are you can do no wrong. But another element to consider is fabric. Do you want to go with long, flowing material or would wood window blinds make your room pop more? If you’re outfitting a den or home-office then wooden blinds could give the room the WOW factor you are looking for. If it’s an elegant living or dining room you are doing over, then flowing drapes may be the way to go.

Bedroom window valances

Ensuring that one gets a good nights sleep should be on top of everyone’s to-do list. One way to ensure this is to have your bedroom in complete darkness before you attempt to fall asleep. There are specfic curtains, drapes and bedroom window valances that are manufactured from specific materials solely for that purpose. They may a tad more expensive, but you’ll be thankful in the morning after a restful nights sleep.

Floral Window Valances

Have you ever walked into a room you have walked into a thousand times before only to realize that the room needs a little something more? For me, this usually happens around Spring time as the days get longer and brighter. Normally, I like to change the bed sheets and comforter to something flowery. And of course, once I do this I realize that I need to add floral window valances to my large bedroom windows for an extra bright touch. It’s the simple changes that truly make a difference.

Bamboo window valance

The exotic look of bamboo can be an exciting addition of style to a new apartment or home owner. It adds a touch of the East, bringing to mind tropical breezes and simple living on a white sand beach. Yet, bamboo is quite expensive so you need to think of inexpensive ways to use bamboo without breaking the bank. One way is to make or buy a bamboo window valance to use as a window treatment to enhance any room. A simple, yet effective use of natural beauty.
