Starting out a home business can be a costly venture once you factor in the necessary components like a fax machine, printer, computer, storage cabinets, desk, office chair, etc. You can of course cut back on costs by purchasing most of these items second hand. And while I wouldn’t skimp on the computer and peripherals, I would recommend buying a cheap work desk at a local thrift store or Salvation Army outlet. Of course you could always check Craigslist or Freecycle where you can get some deals for little money or even for free. If you go this route, you could outfit a home office for quite cheap and feel good that you are recycling as well.
